Bobby Rainey

Development Manager

Bobby Rainey is a longtime resident of Walker County, where she has lived most of her life. She is the mother of four children and the grandmother of three. After struggling with addiction for 35 years, Bobby first entered the City of Lights Dream Center program at the age of 44. Although she initially left after seven months, she returned within four months during a season when her mental health was at its lowest. City of Lights provided a safe and supportive environment for recovery, faith, and personal growth.

Bobby completed the year-long program, followed by a three-month internship, gaining valuable life skills and deepening her faith. Today, she has been sober for more than three years. Her relationships with her children, grandchildren, and extended family have been restored, and she remains deeply grateful to God and to the City of Lights Dream Center for the compassion, guidance, and support that helped her rebuild a healthy and fulfilling life.

Belinda Holliday’s life journey is marked by resilience, faith, and transformation. For over 20 years, she battled addiction, specifically struggling with Suboxone and methamphetamine, enduring seasons of pain, hardship, and loss. For much of that time, addiction held a strong grip on her life, leading her to believe it would define her future. Her turning point came through City of Lights Dream Center, where she began a journey of healing and restoration. Throughout the recovery process, Belinda learned to face challenges with renewed strength and perseverance, even in moments of doubt and setback. Her faith in Christ has remained the foundation of her recovery and continues to guide her forward.

Kammie Glass

House Supervisor

Kammie Glass is the mother of a son, John Luke. She began using drugs and alcohol at the age of fourteen as a way to cope with a difficult childhood, and by her early twenties her substance use had escalated into addiction involving methamphetamine and opioids. In 2024, Kammie lost her home, experienced job instability, and lived out of her car, realizing she needed help.

Kammie and her son were welcomed immediately at City of Lights Dream Center, marking a turning point in their lives. Through the program, she found healing, restoration, and a renewed relationship with God. Today, Kammie’s faith has deepened, and her bond with her son has been restored as they continue moving forward together.

Shania Byrd

House Supervisor

Shania Byrd was born in 1982 in Baton Rouge and moved to Alabama at the age of five to live with her grandparents. After being abandoned by her mother at eight, she was supported by her grandmother and extended family, though she continued to experience isolation. At twelve, Shania was incarcerated for criminal mischief and spent three years in juvenile detention before joining an adoptive family. During high school, she experienced the loss of her adopted brother but remained academically successful.

As an adult, Shania served in the U.S. Army and later married, though both chapters ended unsuccessfully. After returning home, she struggled with addiction and endured continued loss while pursuing college education. Following the death of her mother, a chance encounter led her to City of Lights Dream Center. After completing the program, Shania transitioned into full-time employment and now serves in a supervisory role, using her journey to inspire others with hope and perseverance.

Sydnee Taylor

Marketing Director; Assistant

Adopted and raised in a loving, faith-centered home, Sydnee grew up grounded in the church. During her college years, she experienced a season of seeking identity and acceptance through an unhealthy relationship and substance use, which ultimately led her to rededicate her life to Christ. Now married and expecting her first child, Sydnee is actively involved in church ministry, serving in worship, children’s ministry, and creative teams. She is passionate about using her gifts to point others to Christ and support environments of healing, hope, and restoration.
